We are more than a club, we're a movement!
OUR PURPOSE
The Ecoecon Club is dedicated to advocating for the environmental benefits of bamboo products. By leveraging our platform, we aim to demonstrate the carbon-saving capabilities of bamboo, spotlight user-generated product concepts and ultimately target a collective carbon footprint reduction of 1,000,000 lbs. Our mission revolves around education, inspiration, and instigating sustainable change.

We plan to do this by:

Educating
Host workshops and lectures about bamboo's environmental advantages and collaborate with experts for credible data.

Engaging
Launch a campaign for user-generated bamboo product concepts, showcasing the best ideas monthly.
03.
Tracking Progress
Measure carbon reduction from bamboo usage, updating on the 1,000,000 lbs goal and celebrating milestones.
04.
Iterating & Improving
Regularly evaluate strategies, assess feedback, and refine initiatives to enhance impact.

ORGANIZATION
OUR
Membership
Membership in the Ecoecon Club is open to all students currently enrolled in grades 9-12 at Fairmont Preparatory Academy who are passionate about sustainability and the wonders of bamboo products.
Officers
Officers are charged with steering the club on the right path. They offer support, inspire every member, and safeguard the club's overall well-being. As part of their commitment:

Officers serve voluntarily, without financial compensation.

An officer can be removed by a two-thirds vote of active members if they neglect their duties.

Specialized committees might be created as needed, for tasks like event organization or website modifications.

Officer roles are as follows:
PRESIDENT
Leads the club's initiatives, presides over meetings, and ensures the set goals are achieved.
TREASURER
Responsible for the club's financial endeavors, ensuring that all funds and expenditures are transparently communicated.
VICE PRESIDENT
Assists the President in daily tasks. takes the helm in their absence, and helps manage student relations.
SECRETARY
Keeps minutes of every meeting and takes care of club correspondence as per the President's requests.
Elections
Officer elections for the club take place annually every September. All members have the liberty to either step forward and nominate themselves or put forward another member's name for consideration in an officer role.
The election process remains confidential and unbiased, with votes being cast through a secret ballot. Importantly, the specific protocols for the election will be decided upon by a majority vote of active members before the actual election commences. This ensures that the election process is transparent and agreeable to the majority.
Meetings
Meetings play a pivotal role in maintaining the club's momentum and are scheduled twice a month to guarantee consistent communication and assess progress. To keep the discussions organized and purposeful, the agenda for each meeting is thoughtfully curated by the President, ensuring that pertinent topics are addressed and goals are continually aligned.
Ammendments
For any amendments to this constitution, a majority vote from active members (those attending at least 4 meetings) is required.
Any proposed amendments should be provided in writing to the Vice-President before a meeting to ensure its placement on the agenda.
